About the BellaOnline Horror Literature Editor
Justin D. Davis
Welcome to the Horror Literature site at BellaOnline.com! Justin D. Davis is honored to serve as a ghoulish guide to the macabre as you navigate your way along this twisted path of haunted tales and ghostly yarns. Justin has been fiendishly fascinated with all things horror from the time he was a creepy seven-year-old who would sleep in a trunk at the foot of his bed. Since then and (mostly) coming to terms that he is not a real vampire, he has appreciated horror literature for its ability to provide commentary on societal and individual fears and is quick to point out the hope-filled messages in many horror stories where heroes often emerge from the unlikeliest of places.
Justin is currently an educator in the North-Denver Metro area. He is working toward a Ph.D. in education and has taught literacy and language arts at numerous grade levels. As a teacher and an adjunct college instructor, he has found success in using horror literature as a means to engage students in reading instruction and has focused his doctoral work around this concept. For several years, he served as the lead story writer, consultant, and technical designer for a popular haunted house attraction and has written a short collection of ghost stories and numerous essays around horror literature. He resides in Westminster, CO with his lovely and much smarter wife and his two awesome boys, not to mention his dog who thinks she is a queen and the one cat to rule them all.
Please feel free to connect with Justin about questions or suggestions you have for the Horror Literature site…if you dare!!!
Seriously, now that he’s had all of his shots, he’s not really that scary.
